Permit or placard Fraud

How can a person find out if a person using a disability permit is
the one it is for? Like their kid has a disabilility but the parent
uses it when they are alone or at work.

Can you check against some sort of database to see if the placard is legitimately being used?

    Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately you can't. With Parking Mobility you can record a violation report and capture the licence plate and placard details (including photo). Please put a note in the comments that it is for suspicious placard use.

    We will keep the data and as we continue to work with cities, we will encourage them to cross-reference this data with investigations into placard abuse or lost or stolen placards. That said, we do not have direct access to city or state records for who is the rightful owner of the placard.

    Please remember that many people with disabilities have hidden disabilities and Parking Mobility is not the method to determine whether placards are being used fraudulently. Our primary purpose is to report those who park in disabled parking without proper identification.
