If I report, do I remain anonymous?
When I report a violation is it possible for the violator to find out who reported them?

If your city has not adopted Parking Mobility to send tickets, then no.
In the future, depending on how a city (or in your case, your city) implements Parking Mobility it may require your name be shared at some point in the process. Most likely the "reporter's" name would only be revealed if the ticket were contested by the owner of the car and it went to municipal court. The "reporter" would then be called to appear to testify and their identity revealed.
Hope this helps. Does this concern you or do you have thoughts on this?

If the reporter has to go to court, then what is the use in doing this? Who wants to be caught up in court proceedings just because they were trying to help the cause? People won't want to get involved. Canada has the Canada Evidence Act that would require the reporter to go to court. So there may be no getting around this in canada. Revealing the persons identity can put them in danger. This very much concerns me.

I also contacted the parking enforcement in Vancouver and they have never heard of this application. I would love for this application to work but I don't see how in Canada. Is any city in Canada using it??
