I do not have a Cell phone that takes pictures but I see daily illegal use of parking spots all
over my city.
Can I use a Digital Camera as I would love to report these guys who are parked illegally.

I hear you. We tried to get a technology to work using simpler phones and/or digital cameras. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Parking Mobility works directly with cities and they need to know that the pictures are verified and secure. The only way to do this, that we've been able to figure out is by using our application on smartphones to manage the entire process. The concern would be that using a digital camera, it would too easy to alter a photo (using photoshop or similar application). If you have ideas on getting around this, we'd love to hear from you.
It's great that you want to use Parking Mobility. If you want to help in other ways, we need to get cities to see the value in Parking Mobility. We need communities to start using the application and cities to take notice. It would be great if you contact your councillor to raise this as a possibility or contact your city's accessibility advisory committee?
Parking Mobility is a social application and relies on users to get involved. Anything you can do helps you and you're community become more accessible.

Additional info
Here is a little more background. The information we include for a city is the following:
- The photos
- A GPS reading of where the offence took place (taken from the phone)
- A time stamp of when it was submitted (from the phone and captured by our application)
- Registered user information
This is all tied together for the city with a digital watermark and security encryption.
We spent a long time looking at competing technologies, and the bare minimum became available when you could install an application on a phone. We are always open to hearing more if you have it.
Truthfully, our challenge is to get communities organized around this application and starting to use it to highlight to cities the size of this problem and its impact on access. Do you have any interest in helping to organize some people in your community? Let us know.
Thanks,
Parking Mobility -

Hi Campbell, this is a great idea!
One suggestion for verifying that a digital camera file hasn't been edited is if the camera supports RAW format - RAW images are direct sensor data and cannot be re-saved. Most newer cameras with RAW support can embed a JPG thumbnail that can hold timestamp and GPS info in its EXIF metadata as well. -

I have a problem I got to the 2nd pic on upload and it froze. I tried to save for latter and resending and it did not work I dont like that if it has a problem that you can not go back into opening a report and loading in the pic that where already taken for the first report that failed to send. I so wanted this to work and cant wait to get my first report in.
